왜 예수는 그의 가장 중요한 비유들 가운데 하나를 말하기 위해서 이 특별한 식물을 사용하였는가?

Why did Jesus use this particular plant for one of His most important parables?

겨자나무의 가지와 뿌리들.  예수는 공관복음서 모두 다에 실린 그 유명한 겨자씨 비유에서 겨자씨를 사용하셨다(마 13:31-32; 막 4:31-32; 눅 13:19). A branch and the roots of a mustard plant. Jesus used the mustard seed in His famous Mustard Seed parable, told in all the Synoptic Gospels(Matt. 13:31-32; Mark 4:31-32; Luke 13:19).

이스라엘 예루살렘 - 겨자씨에 대한 예수의 비유는 성경에서 가장 유명한 비유들 중의 하나이다. 그가 가르치실 때에 언급한 모든 식물들 가운데서예수는 인도인의 구술 만한 보잘 것없는 작은 겨자씨를 선택하여 가장 잘 알려져 있고, 가장 사랑받는 비유들 가운데 하나의 중심에 놓으신다.
Jerusalem, Israel - Jesus' parable of the mustard seed is one of the most famous parables in the Bible. Of all the plants He mentions in His teaching, Jesus chooses the lowly little mustard seed, no bigger than an Indian bead, to place at the center of one of his best known and most loved parables.

"또 비유를 베풀어 가라사대 천국은 마치 사람이 자기 밭에 갖다 심은 겨자씨 한 알 같으니, 이는 모든 씨보다 작은 것이로되, 자란 후에는 나물보다 커서 나무가 되매 공중의 새들이 와서 그 가지에 깃들이느니라"(마 13:31-32).
"Another parable He put forth to them, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.'" (Matthew 13:31-32)
